Hyatt Regency Columbus Goes Green

Hyatt Regency Columbus, proud member of The Green Hotel Association, is committed to being Green.  A Green Team was established to help develop environmentally friendly solutions that will not compromise the exceptional customer service for which the Hotel is known.  This team of management and associate staff from all areas of the hotel meet regularly to evaluate and direct the Green program, share ideas and promote best practices.

Some of the Green Initiatives currently in place include:

  • Recycling paper, plastics, aluminum, cardboard, glass and cans
  • Using energy efficient light fixtures and compact fluorescent bulbs
  • Using motion sensor light switches or lights on timers in offices and storerooms
  • Replacing old inefficient equipment
  • Giving guests the opportunity to re-use their linens and towels during their stay
  • Using specially designed showerheads and sink aerators that generate maximum water efficiency in all guestrooms
  • Printing less paper
  • Using longer lasting recyclable filters in the air handler systems
  • Donating and selling reusable dishware, furniture and linens
  • Using 100% recycled and biodegradable carry out bags, cups and cup lids
  • Appropriately adjusting thermostats and turning off lighting in vacant guest rooms and meeting rooms
  • Training Hotel associates in Green practices
We are very excited about other "Green" initiatives in the works. More announcements will follow as we progress toward a greener tomorrow.
